Command Sgt. Maj. John Troxell, International Security Assistance Force Joint Command command sergeant major, looks out the door of a UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter during a flight to Parwan province, Sept. 26. As the top enlisted commander of IJC, Troxell makes it a priority to visit troops throughout Afghanistan. On this day, Troxell attended a non-commissioned officer induction ceremony, where he spoke about the importance of mentoring, leading and setting and enforcing safety standards. "The most important thing as a NCO is to lead by example," Troxell said. "You have to look, act, talk and perform like the professional you are."
