Soldiers from the 1st Battalion, 28th Infantry Regiment, 4th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division, receive a three week-long Assault Climbers Training experience with the Marine Corp at their Northern California Mountain Warfare Training Center, Sept. 22. The first non Special Forces unit to receive training to familiarize soldiers with the environmental hazards associated with high-elevations, rugged terrain, and potentially cold weather – many of the same hazards they might encounter in Afghanistan.
