As the sun rises from the east, service members and civilians participate in the Air Force Birthday 5K run/walk held here, Sept. 18. The Air Force separated from the Army to stand independently as its own branch of service 64 years ago,. Present day, all branches are working together by building teamwork and cohesion as the transition of personnel and equipment from U.S. Forces – Iraq approaches.
