Nineteen northern California media representatives participated in a U.S. Forest Service hiked to an illegal marijuana grow site July 27, which was recently discovered during Operation Full Court Press being held in Mendocino National Forest. Media and supporting security personnel hiked into a remote location within the Mendocino National Forest to view firsthand the recently abandoned illegal marijuana grow site. This site included approximately 10,000 plants and several miles of irrigation drip lines in addition to large amounts of debris and trash. Operation Full Court Press is a focused operation involving the California National Guard Joint Task Force Domestic Support - Counterdrug along with more than 20 federal, state and local partners and is concentrated in the areas of eradication, reclamation and investigation.
