Marines master the ropes to step up, jump off aircraft

Marines and sailors, primarily from units scheduled to be attached to the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit, execute special purpose insertion/extraction rigging off of an MV-22 Osprey at Landing Zone Vulture on Stone Bay, Aug. 5, 2011. The training was part of the II Marine Expeditionary Headquarters Group's Special Operations Training Group's Helicopter Rope Suspension Technique Masters course, which ran July 25 to Aug. 5. The newly certified service members will return to their units and teach HRST operations in preparation for their upcoming deployment.
