PATROL BASE KAKAR, Helmand province, Afghanistan - Lance Cpl. Robert Lebron, a squad automatic weapon gunner with 2nd Platoon, Company K, 3rd Battalion, 4th Marines, reads a letter from home during his down time at Patrol Base Kakar, Afghanistan. Mail call doesn’t happen as often when Marines travel to small out posts in the area, but when it does, letters and care packages help boost morale as received treasures are often shared amongst the Marines. Lebron is from South El Monte, Calif., and joined the Marine Corps in January 2010.
