Muhammed Adel Abdul Gafoor, an Iraqi police investigator from the Hit District, marks an evidence bag during a crime scene exploitation training exercise at Al Asad Air Base, Iraq, July 6. IPs trained for two weeks with 2nd Brigade Special Troops Battalion, 2nd Advise and Assist Brigade MPs to increase their ability to preserve the crime scene by clearing the area of secondary ordnance, cordoning the scene, pulling security and keeping onlookers at bay. These actions increase the likelihood of investigators collecting evidence that is uncontaminated, which can lead to the capture and prosecution of the criminals involved.
