Capt. Arlon, D. Smith, Frankfort, Ind., native, was presented with a Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal by Col. Christopher McCarthy, commanding officer at Marine Corps Training and Advisory Group during a formation at Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek-Fort Story, Va., today. Smith was commended for his exemplary leadership and expertise while deployed as the Deputy Team Chief for the Georgia Training Team, Krtsanisi Training Area, Republic of Georgia September 2010 to March 2011.

  • Magalia, Calif., native, Sgt. Darrin Richardson was awarded a Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal by the commanding officer of Marine Corps Training and Advisory Group, Col. Christopher McCarthy for his exemplary performance of his duties while deployed as the logistics chief for the Georgia Training Team, Krtsanisi Training Area, Republic of Georgia from September 2010 to March 2011. He is currently serving as a motor transportation mechanic for the unit. Richardson is a graduate of Home Tech High School.
  • Annapolis, Md., native Gunnery Sgt. Lee Moffett was awarded a Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal by Lt. Col. William Truax, the officer-in-charge of the Marine Corps Forces, South, Coordination, Liaison and Assistance Team at Marine Corps Training and Advisory Group, for exemplary performance of his duties while deployed to Afghanistan serving as the logistics chief for the 1st Marine Expeditionary Force (Fwd.) from February 2010 to February 2011. Moffett is a graduate of South River High School.
