Spc. Cesar Nunez, an armored vehicle crewman with Company M, 3rd Squadron, 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment, originally from Los Angeles, stands behind his M240B machine gun mounted atop a Caiman armored vehicle on Forward Operating Base Endeavor May 7. Nunez, and fellow members of the 3rd platoon, “Blue Pits,” recently detained a man using a cell phone to gather detailed video footage of U.S. convoys. Nunez identified the suspicious man during their mission and was recognized by the regimental commander for his actions.
