Jarrod Alexander, a squad leader with 1st Squad, Company C, 2nd Combat Engineer Battalion, hangs dog tags off of a battlefield cross in memory of Staff Sgt. Jason Rogers, April 27. The battlefield cross was dedicated in the memory of Rogers, who laid down his life trying to save two Marines in his command.
