An Afghan Commando with the Afghan National Army’s 3rd Commando Kandak receives an award for outstanding performance in the field during a ceremony on Camp Hero in southern Afghanistan’s Kandahar province, May 8. The Commandos are an elite military force whose purpose is to conduct operations targeting high-value militants to strengthen the security and increase the infrastructure of Afghanistan.
