Capt. Douglas ‘Doc’ Powell, brigade surgeon assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, looks over an x-ray March 23 at Camp Nathan Smith’s Troop Medical Clinic with Spc. Powell, a native of Middlebury, Vt., left his job as a business executive for Burton Snowboards at the age of 40 to attend medical school and become a doctor for the U.S. Army. He is currently serving at Camp Nathan Smith in order to oversee operations at the Troop Medical Clinic.
