170918-N-ZS023-033 U.S. 5TH FLEET AREA OF OPERATIONS (Sept. 18, 2017) Ship’s Serviceman Cristian Arzuaga, a Chicago native, assigned to the supply department aboard the amphibious assault ship USS America (LHA 6), loads a .50-caliber Browning machine gun during a live-fire training exercise on one of the weather decks. America is the flagship for the America Amphibious Ready Group and, with the embarked 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit, is deployed in support of maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations.
