Capt. Bryan Ferrara, a nurse with 1st Stryker Brigade Combat Team, “Ready First” 1st Armored Division, uses a stethoscope to check a patients breathing at the “Ready First” Consolidated Aid Station, on East Fort Bliss, March 8. Ferrara oversaw the vaccination of roughly 4,000 Army Soldiers against numerous transmittable diseases for a one-year deployment to Iraq, he has been named the American Nurses Association Immunity Award winner for February 2011.
