Live-fire training unites US, Thai troops

The barrel of an M249 Squad Automatic Weapon smolders between bursts as soldiers from 3rd Battalion, 509th Parachute Infantry Regiment lay down suppressive fire along with Thai forces in live-fire training Feb. 11. The mission was part of Exercise Cobra Gold 2011, a regularly scheduled joint/coalition multinational exercise designed to ensure regional peace and stability.
