Retired Sgt. Maj. Lester B. Cook speaks to a group of soldiers from the 1st Battalion, 24th Infantry Regiment, 1st Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division at Fort Wainwright, Alaska, Jan. 7. Cook traveled to Alaska from his home in Des Moines, Iowa, to speak to the soldiers about the importance of leadership. The former Ranger, relived a number of stories from his time in the military including one from his deployments during World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War.
