The British flag flies between the Afghanistan and American flags aboard the 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing (Forward) compound at Camp Leatherneck, Afghanistan, Jan. 19. The flag belongs to U.K. Lt. Col. Simon Delabilliere, the first U.K. senior watch officer for the 3rd MAW (Fwd) Tactical Air Command Center. It was passed down from his father, who served as a Royal Navy pilot aboard His Majesty's Ship Ark Royal in the 1970s. Delabilliere flies the flag each year on the British Armed Forces Day, and on his last day flew the flag here in honor of his father.
