Romanian president visits his troops in southwest Asia

Romanian President Traian Basescu meets today with Romanian soldiers at Forward Operating Base Apache near Qalat in the Zabul province as a visit to hear from his near 1,650 troops throughout Afghanistan. Romania joined NATO in 2004 and has since been a player in operations in the Middle East and Southwest Asia.
