Hamidi Gulistani is one of four female Ghazni Provincial Council members in a 19-member council, the only elected body of officials in Ghazni. She was selected to participate in a Department of State professional exchange program called the International Visitors Leadership Program, which introduces current and emerging foreign leaders to American experiences with issues such as democracy, governance, law enforcement and provision of administrative services. Gulistani sat down with the Ghazni Provincial Reconstruction Team Aug. 31 and told them what she learned during her three-week trip in July to the U.S.
