Compass Call Unit Departs 386th AEW As a Result of Drawdown in Iraq

Col. Scott Brewer, commander of the 386th Expeditionary Operations Group, runs through a pre-flight checklist Aug. 29, 2010 as he prepares to pilot a U.S. Air Force EC-130H aircraft assigned to the 43rd Expeditionary Electronic Combat Sqaudron. The 43rd EECS, which has been part of the 386th Air Expeditionary Wing for six and a half years, is moving to another base in the U.S. Central Command area of responsibility becuase of the responsible drawdown of forces in Iraq. The EC-130H Compass Call aircraft provides U.S. forces with the ability to jam enemy communications.
