A Soldier with 4th Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 2nd Infantry Division, empties his magazines of ammunition into a container Aug. 15 after crossing the Kuwait-Iraq border on the brigade’s final patrol through Iraq. The Stryker unit is the last combat brigade to leave the country, helping to reach troop strength of 50,000 U.S. service members by Sep. 1 and the commencement of Operation New Dawn.
