Family and friends of Sgt. DeForest L. Talbert start the memorial ride in his honor, July 23, in Eleanor, W. Va. The memorial ride to Arlington, Va., was to honor Army Sgt. DeForest L. Talbert who died, July 27, 2004, serving during Operation Iraqi Freedom. Talbert was killed when an improvised explosive device detonated near his vehicle in Baladruc, Iraq. Talbert, of Charleston, W.Va. was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 150th Armor Regiment stationed in Beckley, W.Va.
