Spc. Derek A. Michael, a military police officer with the 535th Military Police Battalion in Cary, N.C., takes a quick look over an obstacle before throw his grenade during the warrior task course of the 2010 Army Reserve Best Warrior Competition here at Fort McCoy, Wis. Michael is a self-employed carpenter and lives in Raleigh, N.C. "Technique is important when throwing and knowing how to throw in multiple positions is also important," said Staff Sgt. Alexis Foy, a drill sergeant with 2nd Battalion, 2nd Brigade, 323rd Training Regiment in Cary, N.C., who was helping grade the event here July 27. "This is a perishable skill and sometimes taken for granted."
