Lance Cpl. Jason P. Cogley, a 20-year-old Rocky Mount, N.C. native and a machine gunner with the Military Police Company, Combat Logistics Regiment 15, 1st Marine Logistics Group (Fwd), was getting prepared to man the automatic grenade launcher when he received a call on the radio. Pfc. Guy J. Verrier, a 22-year-old Virginia Beach, Va. native and machine gunner for the MPs, observes the supply road below. Danger is easily found in Iraq's most violent province; the MPs alone have encountered more than 40 IEDs and anti-tank mines in just over 5 months. "(These Marines) tend to respond with no fear, their adrenalin gets going... they respond flawlessly, like clockwork," said Staff Sgt. Keith S. Littreal, a 29-year-old native of Greensboro, N.C. and a platoon sergeant for 1st Platoon, MP Company. In the combat zone, MP Company provides security for vehicle/personnel recovery teams, supply trucks, and also scans supply routes for IEDs and enemy activity. (Official USMC photo by: Lance Cpl.
