Routine operation meets resistance

Just more than an hour into an operation with Alpha Company, 1st Battalion, 2nd Marine Regiment, Regimental Combat Team 2, a medical-evacuation helicopter was called in to lift out an injured Marine after his vehicle hit an improvised explosive device on the way to Badam, June 9. "The Marine is fine," said Sgt. Javen Roberson, platoon sergeant for 2nd platoon, Alpha Company. "He received a grade-three concussion and is recovering well."
