The 1-1 Special Troops Battalion Commander, Col. Patricia A. Sellers, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 1st Armored Division out of Fort Bliss, Texas, and Command Sgt. Maj. Dana Mason, Jr., command sergeant major of the unit, uncase their battalion colors, signifying the formal assumption of authority for defense of Forward Operating Base Warrior, Kirkuk, Iraq, during a transfer of authority with 506th Expeditionary Security Forces Squadron, on FOB Warrior, May 28. The ceremony marked the successful completion of the mission, inactivation and beginning of redeployment for 506th ESFS, who have been providing security for FOB Warrior for seven years.
