Saed Murad Mhmad Sadat, the District Governor for Now Zad, and Maj. Richard Graham, the civil affairs team leader with Alpha Company, 1st Battalion, 2nd Marine Regiment, Regimental Combat Team 2, explain to the local shop owners at Salaam Bazaar that their damaged property claims will be paid during a shura, May 16. The Now Zad Bazaar is now the official bazaar of Now Zad. The Salaam Bazaar falls within the district of Now Zad, and by rule of Afghan law, each district is allowed one official bazaar. Sadat and Graham also informed the locals that the Salam Bazaar will be destroyed in June.
