Maj. Gen. Simeon Trombitas, commanding general, JTF-Haiti, says farewell to soldiers from U.S. Army South May 9. Most of the Soldiers returning to Fort Sam Houston, Texas, have been in Haiti supporting humanitarian aid missions since March, when U.S. Army South relieved XVIII Airborne Corp. Since arriving in Haiti, U.S. Army South has assisted non-governmental organization and the government of Haiti with ruble removal, humanitarian aid missions, and relocating internally displaced persons from at risk camps within Port-au-Prince.
