I Corps Farewell Run

Spc. Wagenaar and Pfc. Beckum stretch as service members gather to participate in the I Corps 5K farewell run on Camp Victory, Baghdad. I Corps has been the Corp in charge of U.S. Forces Iraq since April 2009 to present. I Corps is now getting ready to go home after they relinquish command to III Corps.

  • I Corps' Company C, serving under Multi-National Corps-Iraq, sing a Christmas carole cadence Christmas morning as they start the 5K Jingle Bell Run in Baghdad. Nearly 1,500 service members and civilians participated in the race that benefited the arthritis foundation.
  • 1st Sgt. Stephen Grimmer of Multinational Corps-Iraq, runs in the Baghdad Division of the Peachtree Road Race 10K.  The race has been run every Fourth of July in Atlanta, Georgia since 1970.  Lt. Col. Robert Quint, who is deployed to Iraq to help train military police, worked with race organizers in Atlanta to bring the race to Iraq this year.  This is the first time the race has been run outside of Atlanta.

  • Chief Warrant Officer 3 Richard Wills of Bristol, Tenn., who works as the armament technician, 317th Maintenance Company, 553rd Combat Sustainment Support Battalion, 10th Sustainment Brigade, takes home 3rd place in the 553rd CSSB 5.53 mile fun run in Baghdad, May 24. "I wanted to run for an honorable farewell to the 553rd," said Wills. "I like the opportunity to run in these events because it brings Soldiers together and builds unity amongst the units in the battalion. It also brings out a little of the competitive side in some people."
