Spc. Jonelle Smith, 23, from St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, prepares for a mission with fellow members of St. Thomas National Guard's 640th Quartermaster Company in southern Iraq. During a year-long deployment to Camp Cedar II, the 640th maintains several water pumps that supply water to over 10,000 coalition troops while acting as ambassadors to local communities surrounding two American camps.
