U.S. Army 1st Lt. Jim Kirchner jokes with United States Special Forces Soldiers Jan. 2 in Baghdad after a day of firing weapons. Kirchner, who was injured when his forward operating base was attacked with mortars in 2005, returned to Iraq in hopes of finding closure and seeing the progress has made in the past four years since he was wounded.
