A teacher at the schoolhouse in the district center in Now Zad, Afghanistan addresses his students during class Dec. 15. In the days following an effort by 3rd Battalion, 4th Marine Regiment, to break the Taliban's stronghold on area Afghans from the villages throughout the Now Zad have begun to rebuild the district center and district market while their children attend school.
