Soldiers and civilians from all over Camp Taji came to this "yard sale," put on by the 96th Sustainment Brigade, 13th Sustainment Command (Expeditionary), where everything was free at the Camp Taji Mudhouse, Dec. 19. Richland, Wash., native, Cpl. Deirdre Ethington, an administrative specialist with the 1161st Transportation Company, 541st Combat Sustainment Support Battalion, looks through a box containing hygiene products. "There are a lot of products to choose from," she said. 1st Lt. James Maas, from Denver, Colo., and the 96th SBDE's chaplain said, "We received a lot of care packages, so we had to think of a way to get all this stuff to the Soldiers; the soldier's Pantry was too full. Part of the idea of Christmas is just being in community and what better way to do that than sharing." Spc. Rebecca Buck, a Roy, Utah, resident and the 96th SBDE's strength management specialist, helped clear boxes out as they became empty. "I volunteered to help because one man can't do it all," she said. "The 'yard sale' was a huge success. Everything we put out for the Soldiers was picked up and many walked away with smiles," Maas said.
