A fence made of artillery shells cans and concrete surrounds a building inside Combat Outpost Monti in the Kunar province of Afghanistan, Dec. 2, 2009. COP Monti was named after Sgt. 1st Class Jared C. Monti, from 3rd Squadron, 71st Cavalry Regiment, who was posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor Sept. 17, 2009.
