Cpl. Caleb T. West, a squad leader from the Twentynine Palms, Calif.-based Company C, 1st Battalion, 7th Marine Regiment, pays his respects to fallen platoon member, Lance Cpl. Aaron W. Simons at a memorial held in Simons' honor April 25, 2006, aboard the Marines base at Karabilah, Iraq. Simons was killed in action April 24, 2006, while serving in western Al Anbar Province, Iraq. Simons, a two-time Operation Iraqi Freedom veteran, was a 20-year-old from Modesto, Calif.
