Landing craft utility 1634 transports Sailors assigned to Beach Master Unit 1 and Marines from the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit to Freshwater Beach in Townsend, Australia during Talisman Saber 2009. LCU-1634 was launched from the amphibious dock landing ship USS Tortuga. Talisman Saber is a biennial combined training activity designed to train Australian and U.S. forces in planning and conducting combined task force operations.
