U.S. Navy Rear Adm. Anthony Kurta, commander, Combined Joint Task Force-Horn of Africa, shakes hands with Vice Adm. Tohru Izumi, commander in chief, Self-Defense Fleet, Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force after exchanging gifts during an office call at Camp Lemonier, Djibouti. The meeting concerned coalition counter-piracy efforts in the Gulf of Aden. The Japanese have deployed two P-3 aircraft to Camp Lemonier, Djibouti which will patrol and provide reconnaissance on suspected pirate vessels.
