    The United States Army's 234th birthday is celebrated at the Pentagon on June 12 with a cake cutting. Participating in the event are (left to right) Army Chief of Staff George W. Casey Jr., the oldest Soldier serving in the Military District of Washington, Deputy Secretary of Defense William J. Lynn III, Secretary of the Army Pete Geren, the youngest Soldier in MDW and Sergeant Major of the Army Kenneth O. Preston.
