Staff Sgt. Stacy Vandenwyngaard, 386th Expeditionary Operations Support Squadron, adds distilled water to the heat stress monitor to ensure accurate Wet Bulb Globe temperature readings at an air base in Southwest Asia, May 26. The Wet Bulb Globe Temperature is a composite temperature used to estimate the effect of temperature, humidity, wind speed and solar radiation on humans, determining the heat stress category used for work/rest cycles. Sgt. Vandenwyngaard is currently deployed from Charleston Air Force Base, S.C., and is originally from Appleton, Wis.
