The 24th MEU, based out of Camp Lejeune, N.C., is currently deployed with the Iwo Jima Amphibious Ready Group and supporting operations in the U.S. 6th Fleet area of responsibility. The ARG/MEU team is a flexible, sea-based force designed to provide crisis response across the range of military operations, from humanitarian assistance to armed conflict.
