A team briefs judges on their robot design during a FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) robotics qualifying tournament Nov. 22. Junior high school students from the O’Fallon and Edwardsville school districts (plus home-schooled teams) competed in the first Southwest Illinois qualifier of the year. Each team receives points and the top three teams with the most points advance to regionals.
