Staff Sgt. Nicholas Sprovtsoff, an explosive ordnance technician assigned to Marine Special Operations Team 8113, was posthumously awarded the Bronze Star Medal with combat distinguishing device during a ceremony aboard Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, Calif., Nov. 25, 2014. Sprovtsoff was awarded the Bronze Star for his heroic actions while supporting Operation Enduring Freedom in 2011.
