A World War II Marine veteran toured Parris Island for the first time in 72 years on Nov. 6, 2014. Hance Welton, 92, shared his Marine Corps experiences with Staff Sgt. Nathaniel Platek, protocol chief, during lunch in 1st Recruit Training Battalion’s mess hall.
