Sgt. 1st Class Valerie Schermerhorn, theater retention operations noncommissioned officer with Army Reserve Affairs, pets Maj. Edan during the 3rd Medical Command (Deployment Support) Operational Command Post (Forward) change of command ceremony on Camp Arifjan, Nov. 5. The outgoing Detachment 7 provided support to 25 rotating subordinate medical units and personnel consisting of over 1,000 joint service members and civilian contractors throughout the U.S. Army Central area of responsibility.
