    II Marine Expeditionary Force

Private First Class Jaylen D. Miller and Lance Cpl. Aaron J. Spann, fire direction control men with Kilo Battery, 1st Battalion, 10th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, manually plot data for a fire mission after receiving information about a simulated target during exercise Rolling Thunder on Fort Bragg, N.C., Oct. 19, 2014. Rolling Thunder is a semi-annual exercise for the Marines that focuses on artillery standards and operating as a Marine Air-Ground Task Force. After plotting the locations of the artillery batteries, the two FDC Marines then determined the limits in which the M777 Howitzers could launch ammunition and verified their results with computer data. Marines communicated this information to the gun line, helping to accurately aim the 155mm rounds. The FDC also provided any necessary corrections to the gun line after rounds landed.
