Col. Peggy Stradford, chief of staff of the 79th Sustainment Support Command, provided remarks and presented a ceremonial deed to the City of Long Beach during the deed transfer ceremony of Schroeder Hall Army Reserve Center, Oct. 24, 2014, in Long Beach, Calif. The Reserve Center is named for Medal of Honor recipient Maj. Henry F. Schroeder. Long Beach Mayor Robert Garcia, Councilmember Stacy Mungo and Deputy Police Chief Laura Farinella also provided remarks during the ceremony. Attendees included local government officials, veterans organizations, members of the Long Beach Police Department, community members and multiple media personnel. The Long Beach Police Department will use the building for a much-needed East Division substation.
