Marines and sailors with Black Sea Rotational Force 14 conducted patrol based operations Oct. 18-23 in Babadag Training Area, Romania. The service members used land navigation skills to move throughout BTA, finding pre-determined points on maps and setting up patrol bases. From there, patrols were conducted around the patrol base to gather intelligence on the surrounding area and deter enemy movement into the camp. The exercise built confidence in skills commonly used by Marine Corps infantry platoons. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Lance Cpl. Ryan Young/released)
