An MV-22B Osprey with Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 163 (Reinforced), 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), takes off from the flight deck of amphibious transport dock ship USS San Diego (LPD 22) during flight operations, Oct. 20. The 11th MEU is deployed with the San Diego and the Makin Island Amphibious Ready Group as a theater reserve and crisis response force throughout U.S. Central Command and the U.S. 5th Fleet area of responsibility.
