Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS John C. Stennis (CVN 74) conducts pierside alignments and testing of combat systems equipment. These alignments require use of high and low power radars and nearly 20 overflights of the ship by a contracted aircraft at a flyover altitude of a minimum of 1,000 feet. Stennis is currently undergoing a Docking Planned Incremental Availability maintenance period at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility.
