U.S. military personnel, Brigada de Infanteria de Marina (BIM) service members, Ministry of Education teachers, and Ministry of Health doctors and nurses tends to Guatemalan patients at a medical civic action project (MEDCAP) during Southern Partnership Station 2014 (SPS-JHSV 14). MEDCAP provides medical and dental care to local residents as an opportunity for multinational, multi-organizational exchanges and teamwork. U.S. Naval Forces Southern Command and U.S. 4th Fleet employ maritime forces in cooperative maritime security operations in order to maintain access, enhance interoperability, and build enduring partnerships that foster regional security in the U.S. Southern Command area of responsibility.
